Liopetro Hill
ABOUT
Liopetro Hill is a beloved spot among hikers—not just for its panoramic views, but also for its historical significance.
As explained by the Mountaineering Club of Agios Nikolaos, its northern side rises dramatically above the sea, offering uninterrupted views of the coastline. The steep cliffs to the north and west make it practically inaccessible from those directions. On the eastern side, however, the terrain softens, which is why a dirt road was carved out here, linking the fortress with Papadiokampos and Chamezi—perfect if you’re planning to visit by car.
Up here, you’ll also find the church of Prophet Elias and the Liopetro fortress.
