The Municipality of Sfakia can be proud of its beautiful and picturesque villages.
Ammoudari sits in one of the most fascinating spots in the Chania region—at the “junction” of three major plateaus: Askifou, Tavri, and Niato.
Visitors can explore the Church of Panagia in the centre of the village, and the stone-built chapel of Agios Panteleimon in Tavri.
It’s also worth making a stop at the mountain refuge on the Tavri plateau, sitting at an altitude of 1,200 metres.
