The curtain rises on the 2025 edition of the street festival “Techni Kath’ Odon” with the concert “A Tribute to Greek Poetry in Music” featuring the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Crete, Municipality of Heraklion, conducted by Miltos Logiadis and with Vasilis Gisdakis as soloist. The event takes place on Tuesday 17 June at 21:00 at Eleftherias Square.

Organised by the Municipality of Heraklion and the Deputy Mayoral Office for Culture, the “Techni Kath’ Odon” festival will once again transform Heraklion and its Municipal Communities into one big open-air stage.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary, this street festival is a cultural celebration open to everyone—young and old alike. From 17 to 29 June, the city will host dozens of performances across 30 central spots and 25 neighbourhood locations, featuring hundreds of artists and numerous volunteers.

“Musical Journey”
The Heraklion Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Despina Skandalaki, kicks off the festival with a musical promenade leading to Eleftherias Square, filling the streets with joyful sounds.

“A Tribute to Greek Poetry in Music”
The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Crete, Municipality of Heraklion opens the festival with pieces by Bach, Vivaldi, and Mozart. In the second part, they explore the poetry of Elytis, Ritsos, Seferis and more, with Vasilis Gisdakis and Miltos Logiadis on piano.
