For the third year, summer in Ano Viannos puts “liquid gold”, olive oil, in the spotlight, as the 3rd Olive and Olive Oil Festival arrives on 14 August 2026.

This is a two-day celebration aimed at bringing local olive producers even closer to visitors. The two-day programme of events is organised by the Cultural Association of Ano Viannos, with the support of the Municipality of Viannos.

As part of the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to taste extra virgin olive oil, sample local products and authentic recipes, enjoy good music and meet the local producers, through an exhibition of local products.

Friday, 14 August

• Festival begins at 21:30
• Blessing ceremony
• Brief greetings from representatives of local organisations
• Keynote speaker: Stratakis Christos, Agronomist and IT Specialist
• Presentation of the event by Eva Papadaki
• Greek folk music evening in the square of Ano Viannos

Saturday, 15 August

• Cretan evening in the courtyard of the Viannos Gymnasium-Lyceum
