The photography exhibition titled “Travelling” by Giannis Manioros opens on Wednesday 4 March 2026 at 18:00, at the Multi-Space of the Municipal Art Gallery of the Municipality of Heraklion (8 Chrysostomou Street). Admission is free.
The exhibition will run until Friday 13 March 2026 and presents mainly landscapes of Crete — a place both deeply familiar and endlessly revealing. The images capture moments of light and stillness, where the landscape is not simply a backdrop but a bearer of memory and emotion.
The exhibition has a charitable character, with all proceeds from the sale of the works donated to “ALLILEGGYI” Heraklion, an organisation dedicated to Alzheimer’s disease and healthy ageing, as an act of offering and giving back through art.
A few words about Giannis Manioros
Giannis Manioros has been photographing since 1989, beginning with people and their moments, always guided by light. Based in Heraklion, Crete, he is a member of the Association of Professional Photographers of Crete and, since 2001, has maintained his own photography space, where long-standing experience meets constant exploration and a deep love for the image.
His work has received awards in photography competitions in Greece and abroad. Since 2007, his focus has steadily turned to landscape photography. Travel — near or far — becomes a way of observing and an inner journey. Photography unfolds as a quiet dialogue with space, time and memory, seeking not the spectacular, but the essential.
