The Natural History Museum of Crete has opened its doors to the public once more, with a section of the building’s renovation now finished.
As the museum team puts it, “renovating a cultural space—especially a museum—is like a work of art in progress (ours will be completed in December 2025)!”
Until then, the doors remain open and you're invited to come and explore:
-
The relocated “Extreme Dinosaurs” exhibition, now set up in the Botanical Garden
-
The impressive Deinotherium, which has moved to the renovated reception area, right next to the refurbished gift shop

The Seismic Table is still under development, so it won’t be available for now.
Museum opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 09:00–17:00
Saturday & Sunday: 10:00–18:00
