On Saturday, January 24, 2026, in the "G. Anemogiannis" Hall of the Nikos Kazantzakis Museum, Alexis Zorbas becomes wine!
14 top wineries from Crete come together for a bold and creative challenge: a unique blind wine tasting day, open for wine lovers to follow from anywhere.
The Kazantzakis Museum’s scientific team, in collaboration with the competition’s judging panel, decoded the novel “Zorba the Greek” and presented winemakers with an unusual task:
To express the legendary Zorbas' traits through a single glass of wine—
Authentic, multidimensional, unconventional, joyful.
Which wine will best capture his untamed spirit?
The answer lies with the judging panel:
Kostas Lazarakis MW | Apostolos Plachouras DipWSET | Iro Koliakoudakis DipWSET | Modher Bouzayen
Wine samples submission: January 19–23, 2026
