The printmaking workshop held at the Folklore Museum of Sitia from November 2024 to June 2025 presents its final exhibition, showcasing original works inspired by nature, everyday life, and Sitia’s artistic heritage.
The exhibition opens on Saturday, June 21 at 8 p.m. at Vitsentzos Kornaros Cultural Centre, and will run until June 28, 2025, open daily from 19:00 to 21:00.
The workshop’s participants explored the art of printmaking in depth, working on personal interpretations of the idea of "cultural heritage" through a contemporary lens.
The exhibition features pieces by seven participants and their workshop coordinator, Antonia Dretaki.
The theme developed through museum visits, outdoor classes, and conversations about the artistic identity of the region.
With respect for the past and an eye on the present, the works on display form a visual narrative about what it means to create art starting from your own place.
