The heart of Cretan tradition will once again beat in Kissamos as the Kissamos – Flavours & Art Festival returns for its 17th consecutive year, from Sunday, 16 August to Monday, 24 August 2026. The festival will take place along the seafront road, west of the Kissamos Municipal Stadium, and will be open daily from 18:30 to 23:30.

More than 40 exhibition stands will line the waterfront, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the flavours, aromas and traditions of Crete, along with local products, culture and art.

The festival has become a landmark event for Crete, giving visitors the chance to experience the treasures of the Cretan land, taste authentic local products of high nutritional value, and enjoy a rich programme of cultural events and live concerts.

Admission is free.

Sunday, 16 August 2026

20:00 – Official opening of the Flavours & Art Festival 2026
Blessing ceremony
Welcome speeches by local authorities and representatives

21:30 – Traditional Cretan feast with Giorgos Mylonakis (violin, vocals), Loukas Mandakakis (lute), Grigoris Kontaxakis (lute, vocals) and Thodoris Giannenakis (percussion).

Dance performances by: "I KISSAMOS" Cretan Dance Association and Giannis & Haris Koumis Dance School.

Monday, 17 August 2026 – Re-enactment of a Traditional Cretan Wedding

19:00 – The wedding procession will depart from Tzanakaki Square, continue along Skalidi Street, reach Teloneio Beach, and finish at the festival grounds by the Municipal Stadium.

20:30 – Traditional Cretan wedding re-enactment, featuring folklore elements, Cretan musicians and traditional dance groups.

21:00 – Cretan music night with Nikomanolis Nyktaris, promising an evening of music, dancing and celebration.

Wednesday, 19 August 2026

20:00 – Aerial performance by Fit Fun Fly School.

21:00 – Cretan music night with Giorgos & Christos Stratakis, featuring special guest Aprs (Aprosmenos).
