The exhibition titled “A Tribute to the Viannos Holocaust” was officially inaugurated at the Viannos Gallery in Keratokampos, in the presence of Mayor Mr. Pavlos Baritakis.
This exhibition is part of the broader programme of remembrance events marking 82 years since the Viannos Holocaust. It is organised in collaboration with the Ano Viannos Cultural Association, the Keratokampos and Kapsaloi Cultural and Beautification Association “I Vigla”, the Union of Holocaust Victims of Viannos, with the support of the Region of Crete and the Municipality of Viannos.

On the occasion of the opening—which will run until October 30—the Mayor of Viannos, Mr. Pavlos Baritakis, made the following statement:
“They say a picture is worth a thousand words. And when it comes to the exhibition 'A Tribute to the Viannos Holocaust', on display at the Viannos Gallery in partnership with local organisations and artists, we’re talking about a true cultural treasure.
This is a meaningful tribute to the memory of the victims of September 1943, a time when Viannos came face-to-face with the brutal reality of war.
Through the creations of numerous talented artists, the pain and sacrifice of our ancestors is vividly portrayed. At the same time, their works breathe life into the truth, proving that art is a guiding light for future generations.
This exhibition stands as a ‘living’ testimony, a reminder that it is up to us to keep historical memory and our collective identity alive.
I extend my sincere thanks to the organisers, the participating artists, and to all those who support this initiative. I hope the exhibition moves and inspires every visitor.”
