Join the Municipality of Chania for its annual World Environment Day celebration in the Municipal Garden of Chania on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 9:00 to 12:00.

With a big celebration for both children and adults, the event is organized by the Department of Environment, Sanitation, and Green Spaces of the Municipality of Chania, in collaboration with DEDISA, DEYAX, local organizations, schools, and, of course, the community.

Everyone is invited to take part in a day dedicated to the environment and sustainability.

The programme includes a variety of simultaneous activities for all ages, lots of surprises, and the traditional distribution of flowers and planting soil, part of Chania’s initiative to promote urban greenery.

There will also be a product swap bazaar, along with environmental awareness activities from DEDISA S.A., focusing on reuse, waste prevention, and recycling. DEYAX and other participating groups will also offer informational sessions.

All activities are free of charge, for both children and adults, and there will be plenty of surprises throughout the day.
