For the fourth year running, the Municipality of Rethymno, through its Tourism Department, in collaboration with the Wines of Crete network, and with the support of the Region of Crete and the Agri-Food Partnership, presents the Wines@Fortezza exhibition, dedicated to the Cretan Vineyard.
The event will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 19:30 to 23:00, at the imposing Fortezza Fortress, the emblematic landmark of Rethymno. It is part of the official programme of the initiative "Crete – European Region of Gastronomy 2026", aiming to highlight the deep connection between Cretan wine, culture, gastronomy, and local identity.
At Wines@Fortezza, wine lovers and industry professionals will have the chance to taste over 150 labels of branded, bottled wines from member wineries of the Wines of Crete network.
Visitors will meet the people behind the wines and explore both local and international grape varieties grown in Crete: Vidiano, Liatiko, Thrapsathiri, Romeiko, Vilana, and many more, through new and aged vintages.
