On Sunday, June 15, 2025, the Mountaineering Club of Agios Nikolaos is organizing a hike on the lush southwest side of the Lasithi region, through the green Parsa Gorge.

The route is as follows:
“We’ll begin in Metaxochori and follow the old trail that once connected the village to Selakano, climbing up to this charming mountain hamlet. From there, we’ll continue along the old path that once linked Selakano to the village of Christos. A beautiful trail, full of greenery and with views out over the Libyan Sea.”

Hiking time: 5 hours (excluding necessary stops)

Altitude difference: 630 meters
Distance: Approx. 12 kilometers

Departure:
From Agios Nikolaos: 7:30 a.m., 24 Karamanli Street (parking at S/M Vasilopoulos)
From Ierapetra: 8:00 a.m., at Roby Café on the road to Gra Lygia.
Transportation will be by private vehicles – please contribute €10 to your driver.

If the weather or other conditions are not favorable, the leader may change the route.
