The Regional Unit of Chania, the Municipality of Sfakia, the Union of Sfakians of Chania, the Sfakia Athletic Gymnastic Club, with the support of the Kissamos Health Runners Group – Innachories Routes (organizational retzaka & Elafonisi) and the Giro Perivolia, are organizing, for the second consecutive year, a celebration event of running / dynamic walking in the mountainous area of the village of Imbros, along the homonymous gorge of the Municipality of Sfakia. The event will include an 8.300 km race and an 8.300 km hiking route.

The race is held under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Sports.

Imbros Trail Run is addressed to athletes, mountain or road runners, as well as hikers and nature lovers. Our routes are an invitation for people from all over Crete and Greece to discover the inland of our region, its trails, hidden beauties, tradition, local products, flora and fauna.

The race takes place in honour of the historic events that unfolded on May 29, 1821, at Panagia Thymiani, with the declaration of the Revolution in Crete and the election of the leaders of the struggle.
