On Sunday, April 19, 2026, the Mountaineering Club of Agios Nikolaos will walk along the southeastern ridge of Ano Merambello, with views stretching from the Elounda Bay to the peaks of Thripti.

“We will follow old paths that will lead us to the edges of the Katseli ridge of Agios Nikolaos. From there, we will enjoy views from the Spinalonga peninsula and the Elounda Bay all the way to the limits of the Merambello Bay and the peaks of Thripti. Walking under the watchful eye of the area’s vulture, we will visit the chapel of Agios Georgios of Kastellos. The return to the starting point will take place along rural roads through the settlements of Louma and Vrouchas.”

DEPARTURE: from Agios Nikolaos, Karamanli Street 24 (at the parking area of SM Vasilopoulos) at 08:00 in the morning. Transportation will be by private cars. Those joining a vehicle are kindly asked to contribute 5€ to the driver.
