The Municipality of Chania, in cooperation with the Chania Urban KTEL, is proceeding with the expansion of the routes operated by the electric buses serving the city's peripheral parking areas (Park & Ride), responding to the increased demand recorded during the summer season.

From Monday, 6 July 2026, until 15 September 2026, a new enhanced schedule will come into effect for routes to and from the Kladissos Parking Area and the former Markopoulou Military Camp Parking Area (Agios Ioannis), offering more frequent connections with the city centre.

It is reminded that during the operation of the peripheral parking areas, residents and visitors to the city can park their vehicles free of charge, making use of the parking facilities and travelling to and from the city centre at no cost via the Municipality of Chania's electric buses.

In this way, access to the commercial and historic centre is facilitated, while at the same time traffic congestion is reduced and environmentally friendly transport is encouraged.
