Prepare for a two-day programme of events dedicated to Cretan tradition, memory and local culture, with an emphasis on folklore, gastronomy and live music.
On Saturday, 25 July 2026, at the "Dimitrios Arnaoutakis" Hall of the Community Building, folklorist Eleni Koukoulaki will give a talk entitled "Everyday Life in Elounda of the Past", through which the audience will discover habits, memories and traditional aspects of life in the area.
At the same time, an exhibition of household utensils from previous decades will be on display.
Of particular interest is the tribute to Nikos Filippakis, featuring the exhibition "The Little Boats of Spinalonga", which highlights aspects of the area's history and collective memory.
The evening will conclude with traditional music and songs performed by Manolis Kokolakis, Nasos Moutaftidis and Damianos Mavrakis.
On Sunday, 26 July 2026, following the pilgrimage to Agios Panteleimon of Spinalonga, Elounda Square will be filled with the aromas and flavours of Cretan gastronomy, featuring traditional dishes from both land and sea that revive recipes from past generations.
At the same time, the exhibition "The Little Boats of Spinalonga" will continue to operate.
The musical programme of the second day will be performed by Manos Loukakis, Dimitris Kokolakis and Pavlos Koutoulakis, in a Cretan celebration that will bring the events to a close.
On 25 and 26 July 2026, Elounda becomes a point of reference for the local history, folklore, gastronomy and live music of Crete.
