On Sunday, 21 June 2026, the Agios Nikolaos Mountaineering Club is organising an easy circular hike of archaeological interest around Eleftherna, in Rethymno, for its members and for anyone interested in joining the club.

"We will start from the village of Eleftherna and visit the old aqueduct. Following a combination of trail and asphalt road, we will then visit the Archaeological Museum of the area and afterwards the archaeological site. Finally, we will walk to the old arched bridge before returning to our starting point.

Duration of the hike, including stops: 4 hours

Difficulty level: 1

Distance: approximately 12 km

Please register by the evening of Wednesday, 17 June, so that we can determine whether a bus will be hired.

Departure:
From Agios Nikolaos (K. Karamanli 23, S/M) on Sunday morning at 7:00.

Transport will be by bus, with an estimated cost of €20–25 per person depending on participation. If the required number of participants is not reached, transportation will be by private car."
