Heraklion will host the new generation of European basketball as they take their first steps onto the international stage, with the EuroBasket U20 games taking place at the Nea Alikarnassos Indoor Arena from 12 to 20 July 2025. 

This major sports event has chosen Heraklion and the Nea Alikarnassos Indoor Arena to welcome 16 European teams and the young stars of the sport who are expected to shine on international courts over the next decade.

The Greek U20 National Team has already begun preparations for the tournament, training in Athens and participating in the international tournament in Domegge di Cadore. Preparations will continue in Heraklion, where two friendly matches against Iceland are scheduled for 6 and 7 July.

In the group stage, Greece will face, in order:
Lithuania (12/7),
Czech Republic (13/7),
and Romania (14/7).
