The Nikos Kazantzakis Museum and KTEL Heraklion – Lasithi invite you to make a cultural, educational, and inspirational stop at the Nikos Kazantzakis Museum in Myrtia.
The museum is delighted to announce a collaboration with KTEL Heraklion – Lasithi, launching a special bus route that improves access to the Nikos Kazantzakis Museum in Myrtia, the ancestral village of the world-renowned writer.
Starting Tuesday, 17 June 2025, the bus will depart daily at 13:00 from Heraklion, heading towards Kastelli, with a stop in Myrtia at 13:45. For the return journey, visitors can board the bus in Myrtia at 15:30 with final destination Heraklion.
This route was designed to provide comfortable, reliable, and affordable transportation for those wishing to explore the museum and Myrtia up close. The initiative is part of the museum’s outreach strategy, aiming to enhance accessibility to the cultural heritage of the Cretan countryside and integrate it into the daily life of locals and visitors alike.
