The Municipality of Mylopotamos, in collaboration with the Educational Development Organisation PLOIGOS and under the auspices of the Region of Crete, invites you to the 3rd Festival of Local Gastronomy & Circular Economy, on Wednesday, 27 August 2025 at 19:00, in Agyia Mylopotamou.

The festival is part of the Mylopotamos Summer Festival and has now been established as an event that highlights local cuisine, culinary traditions, and the principles of the circular economy, linking tradition with sustainability.

Programme of Events

19:00 – Traditional kantada (serenade) from the Church of Saint Anastasia to the square of the Cultural Association, with:

  • Fotis Kontaratos (lyra)

  • Emilios Volanakis (lute)

  • Tasos Klados

  • Vasilis Kryovrysanakis
    and the Folklore Group “Chorokrites”

20:30Official greetings by:

  • the Mayor of Mylopotamos, Mr. Georgios Klados

  • the Cultural Association of Agyia

  • the General Director of PLOIGOS, Mr. Georgios Zervos

21:00Presentation of traditional recipes & local dishes by the Cultural Associations and organisations of the villages:
Aggeliana, Agios Mamas, Agridia, Agyia, Axos, Apladiana, Achlade, Garazo, Dafnedes, Exantis, Episkopi (Municipality of Hersonissos), Theodora, KAPI Mylopotamos, Keramota, Kryoneri, Livadia, Melidoni, Mourtzana, Panormo, Perama, Roumeli, Skepasti.

The 3rd Festival of Local Gastronomy & Circular Economy is an open invitation to everyone to taste the richness of Cretan cuisine, share experiences, and explore the importance of the circular economy for the future of our communities.
