The Panhellenic Association “A Child’s Heart”, in collaboration with the Municipality of Malevizi, the runners’ team “A Child’s Heart”, the Community of Fodele, and the Cultural Association of Fodele, is co-organising the 11th FODELE RUN for “A Child’s Heart” in Fodele, on Sunday, 15 February 2026.
The event includes two scenic nature routes of 7 km and 10.5 km, and for the first time, a 100-metre race for children with disabilities (A.M.E.A.), giving all participants the chance to run or walk through a beautiful natural landscape while supporting the work of the Panhellenic Association for Children and Adults with Heart Conditions.

A) 100m CHILDREN’S RUN (Non-competitive) for Children with Disabilities
🕛 Start Time: 12:00
B) 10.5 KM RACE for Adults
📍 Start: Fodele Square → Agios Panteleimon Monastery → return through the Dasoura Valley → finish at Fodele Square
🕥 Start Time: 12:10
🗺️ Route Description: Begins with 600m of asphalt, then turns left through a fertile valley filled with plane trees, wild vegetation, and orange groves on a soft-sloping dirt road for 4 km. The path continues to the monastery, running alongside the river and through orange trees. The last 500 metres before the monastery are uphill with a gentle slope. The return is via the main road.
📈 Elevation gain: 210 metres
C) 7 KM RACE for Children & Adults
📍 Start: Fodele Square → Agios Panteleimon Monastery → return → finish at Fodele Square
🕧 Start Time: 12:20
🗺️ Route Description: Starts with 1.5 km of asphalt followed by a well-kept dirt road among plane trees, riverbanks, and orange groves. Flat throughout, except for the last 500 metres before the monastery, which are gently uphill.
📈 Elevation gain: 170 metres
Transportation:
A free bus will depart from Heraklion (Eleftherias Square) at 10:00, sponsored by UNIONBUSES.
