Olof Palme Museum

A museum dedicated to Sven Olof Joachim Palme, the Swedish social democrat politician and prime minister, has been open since 2023 in Mochos , Hersonissos, on the initiative of the Association of Friends of Olof Palme. The Friends of Olof Palme have collected material on the politician in order to exhibit it in this museum, to honour the memory of a man who, according to them, loved their country and enjoyed spending his summers with them.

The museum is located in the small square of Mochos.

The museum exhibits information on the chronology of Palme’s life and work, and on the famous ‘Six Initiative’, the international political movement for peace and international disarmament, led by the leaders of six countries, namely, Palme, Andreas Papandreou , Indira Gandhi, Raul Alfonsin, Miguel de la Madrid and Julius Nyerere.
