Kamariotis: Celebrating Twice Over - A Village with Dual Festivities

Cities & Villages

ABOUT

The village of Kamariotis is adorned with lush greenery, featuring oak, holly, and carob trees. Particularly noteworthy is the area of Kremastos, home to an oak forest through which a delightful walking trail passes, leading just beyond Aidonochori.

Kamariotis commemorates its two churches with biannual celebrations. In April, the village pays tribute to the church of Agios Georgios, followed by festivities in honour of Panagia (Virgin Mary) in August.

It's a charming village with stone houses and a fascinating history. It's widely believed that the village derives its name from its first settler, Kamariotis.

Venturing along a dirt track at the western edge of the village, one arrives at Trypiti, offering stunning views of colossal rocks sculpted into intricate labyrinths and peculiar formations.
