Deinotherium giganteum
A giant Proboscidea with a height that exceeded 5 meters.
He had tusks in the lower jaw pointing downwards. It lived in the Upper Miocene, about 10 million years ago. It represents periods that large areas of Crete were connected with the adjacent continents, allowing migration towards the island of animals that do not swim like Deinotherium, Pliohyrax and other, fossils of which are located in various parts of Crete.
