The Wines of Crete Network, the Municipality of Rethymno and the Region of Crete are organising the Wines@Fortezza 2026 Cretan Wine Exhibition for the fifth consecutive year. The event will take place on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, at the iconic Fortezza Fortress in Rethymno.
From 20:00 to 23:30, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the richness and dynamism of the modern Cretan vineyard, tasting more than 150 labels of branded bottled Cretan wines from wineries that are members of the Wines of Crete Network.
The event is aimed at both wine lovers and industry professionals, offering a unique opportunity for wine tasting and direct interaction with the winemakers themselves.
Visitors will be able to explore both indigenous grape varieties of Crete and international varieties cultivated on the island.

The Wines@Fortezza exhibition has become an established institution for Rethymno and Crete, showcasing the uniqueness of the Cretan vineyard, the work of the island’s winemakers, and the connection between wine, culture, gastronomy and tourism in Crete.
Join us at the Fortezza for an evening filled with aromas, flavours and stories from the world of Cretan wine.
The exhibition is co-organised by the Municipality of Rethymno and the Region of Crete, with the support of the Agri-Food Partnership of Crete.
