The popular initiative “Walking to Discover Our Land”, organised by the Municipality of Platanias in collaboration with local organizations, continues with great success and participation. The next hike will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 17:30, at the Lake of the Zounaki Community.

Meeting point is the village square, from where hikers will follow a 3.8 km circular route of mild difficulty along a rural road. They will ascend to the chapel of Prophet Elias, pass by the traditional village spring for a short rest, and then return to the square.

Light clothing, proper shoes, and water are recommended. The hikers will be accompanied, as always, by the local branch of the Kissamos Red Cross for their safety, as well as by the Deputy Mayor for Culture of Platanias, Polychronis Simantirakis, who coordinates the hiking programme.
