Nature

The Elidona (Callistoctopus macropus) is one of the most striking octopuses of the Mediterranean. It stands out for its reddish-brown body, covered with distinctive white spots, and for its particularly long and slender arms. Its total length can exceed 1 metre.

It lives mainly in shallow, rocky coastal waters, where it spends the day hidden in crevices and cavities. After sunset, it becomes especially active as it searches for food. Scientific studies have shown that the Elidona is an almost exclusively nocturnal species, with its activity peaking during the night.
