The Municipality of Anogeia, Hyakinthia Festival, Cultural Association of Anogeia, Anogeia Weaving School, and the Anogeia Chess Club honor in 2025 the 100th anniversary of the birth of Manos Hadjidakis, with numerous events throughout the year, starting with the rich cultural programme of the Hyakinthia Festival.
Manos Hadjidakis developed a special bond with Anogeia during the 1980s. With the inspired mayor Giorgis Klados, they redefined the village’s cultural wealth, giving new meaning to tradition through authentic celebrations that moved beyond folklore.
FRIDAY, 25 JULY
Memorial service at Saint Hyakinthos in memory of the great composer, led by Father Andreas Kefalogiannis.
Twelve students from the School of Fine Arts, under the guidance of professor Marios Spiliopoulos, create works inspired by Manos Hadjidakis, Anogeia, and the Hyakinthia Festival.
Mosaic artist Grigoris Kallagias creates a live portrait of Manos Hadjidakis using stones and tesserae from Mount Ida (Psiloritis), in front of the audience.
Italian sculptor Laura Zizzi sculpts a bust of Manos Hadjidakis live on stage during the music events at the Theatre of Saint Hyakinthos.
Fournarogiorgis and his team of bread artisans craft a large “trividi” (traditional sweet bread), embossed with the name of Manos Hadjidakis.

Krystalia Nikiforou, inspired by the "Orchestra of Colours", presents a visual and sensory performance:
40 women in traditional Cretan costumes, revive ancient women’s crafts in an underground parallel performance that evokes memories.
Concert with the renowned group “The Hyakinthoi”, four childhood friends:

• Dimitris Berkis
• Giannis Spachis
Grateful for Hadjidakis’ legacy, they sing and play music dedicated to him, accompanied by traditional dance groups.
Dancers from the Mavrokostas Dance Schools and the Cultural Association of Anogeia, dressed in traditional costumes, perform in honor of Manos Hadjidakis.
SATURDAY, 26 JULY
The well-known lyricist and Second Programme producer Kostas Fasoulas presents "From Amorgos to Anogeia", a tribute to the relationship between Manos Hadjidakis and Nikos Gatsos.
Paris Mexis, poetic producer of the Third Programme, introduces and comments on the songs with his unique narrative style.
Guitarist Giorgos Mastorakis opens the evening with a solo performance.
Aliki Kayaloglou and Vasilis Gisdakis will sing, accompanied by Maestro Miltos Logiadis on the same piano that Manos Hadjidakis played forty years ago, which he later donated to the Municipality of Anogeia.
SUNDAY, 27 JULY
Concert with two of Hadjidakis’ beloved voices:
• Elli Paspala
• Ilias Liougos
• At the piano, Maestro Miltos Logiadis, with Paris Mexis providing his unique commentary.
Parallel activities:
The famous “Psiloritis Tea” of Giorgis Saloustros is offered to visitors, filling the air with Eros herb and marjoram aromas.
Local Psiloritis products are displayed in the courtyard of Hyakinthos, offered by local producers.
Mount Psiloritis embraces the events as an honor to its "great guest."
