The Fodele Cultural Association “Dominikos Theotokopoulos” presents the art exhibition “ZEUXIS”, featuring artists Domna Delliou and Charis Margaritis, curated by Mantalena Melissourgaki Wozniak, at the historic El Greco Museum in Fodele.

About the Exhibition

How can the distance between two artists be bridged? Sometimes the universe calls upon unlikely coincidences and a silent, invisible promise to bring together chance and destiny.

The story begins in Thessaloniki in 2012. The sight of Domna Delliou’s artistic balcony on Zeuxidos Street, along with her studio on Margariti Street, is seen by Charis — whose surname is Margaritis — as a positive omen and an awakening. He has just left his job to pursue his dream and study at the School of Fine Arts.

Although they did not manage to meet at the time, art acted as an invisible transmitter between them. The years passed, Domna settled permanently in Crete, while Charis, after completing his studies, also returned to his island. When they finally met for the first time in 2025, the circle closed in an awe-inspiring way.

At the El Greco Museum, the two artists present works that enter into an almost metaphysical dialogue, with the human face at their heart. As depicted on the exhibition poster, two half-faces come together as one: two different artistic languages searching for exactly the same truth and for the power of the gaze that reflects the soul.

The Title’s Triple Coincidence

The exhibition takes its name, “ZEUXIS”, from a threefold symbolic coincidence:

• Zeuxis — the great ancient Greek painter of light and shadow.
• Zeuxidos & Margariti Streets — which foreshadowed the meeting of the two artists.
• Zeuxis, or “joining” — as the imaginary bridge between inspiration and its outcome.
