Registrations have opened for the 29th Koudoumas Cross-Country Run and Hiking Event, which will take place on Palm Sunday, 5 April 2026 (Start time: 10:00 – Sternes).

Detailed Information for the 29th Koudoumas Cross-Country Run & Hiking Event
Date: Palm Sunday, 5 April 2026
Start Time: 10:00
Starting Point: Sternes
(The route is mountainous and demanding, featuring 9 km uphill and 13.5 km downhill, on a dirt road.)
Route: Sternes – Kofinas – Holy Monastery of Koudoumas (22.5 km)
Finish Line: Holy Monastery of Koudoumas
Free Transportation for Athletes
For the transportation of athletes to the starting point, a bus will depart from Eleftherios Venizelos Square (Heraklion) on Sunday, 5 April at 07:30 a.m.

For the above categories to apply, at least four athletes must participate in each category.

Participation is FREE.
All participants take part under their own medical responsibility.
Awards
Cups, medals, and a commemorative diploma will be awarded to the top three athletes in each category.
Commemorative gifts will also be given to all participants.
Meal
After the award ceremony, a meal will follow in the courtyard of the Holy Monastery of Koudoumas.
