On Sunday, 21 September at 19:30, the central square of Platanias will once again come alive with music, wine, and dancing, as the Municipality of Platanias and its Cultural Enterprise (K.E.DI.P.), in collaboration with the Region of Crete and local organisations, host the 15th “Earth – Culture – Tourism” Festival.

Now an established annual tradition, the festival is a vibrant celebration of Crete’s land, its cultural identity, and its role in tourism. The goal is simple and heartfelt: to showcase the richness and quality of local products, support small-scale producers, highlight the island’s cultural heritage, and offer both residents and visitors a taste of authentic Cretan hospitality.

Expect an evening of wine-focused festivities – from hands-on grape pressing and raki distillation, to tasting sessions of local wines and products. Traditional music and dancing round off the night, turning the village square into a true Cretan feast.

Admission is free.
