“A Magical Night”: Major Concert with Maria Farantouri and the Athens State Orchestra at the Heraklion Cultural and Conference Center

Maria Farantouri, the great Greek vocalist whose voice became inseparable from the work of Mikis Theodorakis, joins forces with the Athens State Orchestra in her first appearance at the Heraklion CCC, under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor Myron Michailidis.
Concerts will take place on Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 21:00, in the “Andreas and Maria Kalokairinou” Hall.
“To Karnavali”, the symphonic suite where Mikis Theodorakis first attempted to dress modern Greek melodies and dances in symphonic orchestral colors, is accompanied by a selection of iconic and beloved songs. These are arranged by Antonis Sousamoglou and Lazaros Tsavdaridis, in a musical tribute full of memory and emotion, marking 100 years since the birth of our great composer.
